My name is Emilie and I am a twenty-something Torontonian (originally from Ottawa, with a brief period spent living in Ithaca, NY to do my Master degree). I have always been a beauty product lover and love to compare, contrast, and evaluate everything from dry shampoo to eye liner, high-end to low-end (I am typically a bargain-hunter). It clearly runs in the family; Jane, of Daly Beauty, is my Mum.
The Beauty School Dropouts initially began as a partnership between myself and Kristina (one of my BFFs). We both love everything beauty and began experimenting with nail art, in particular. We had an absolute blast running our nail art company in Ottawa in 2011 and 2012, participating in events and providing private nail art parties for bachelorettes, birthdays, you name it. All of the nail posts I made during that time are still on the blog, so feel free to check them out. I have also left our interviews and TV appearances if you are interested in witnessing our awkwardness.
In 2012, I got accepted to Cornell for a Masters degree in Business Admin and went off to follow that dream. We pressed pause on BSD. Now, I am living in Toronto (as is Kristina funnily enough) being a business lady and want to get back into the beauty blogging game. Enjoy!
